here’s what’s new:

- another year older, another year closer to death. i think my next birthday will be worse, where i’ll be left with the final year of my 20’s

- my new place has really come together. really enjoying my new ‘hood. wood blinds being installed on the 21st. i’m such an old man. my younger self would be ashamed

- hoping things work out with this lady friend of mine

- went on a 5 day mini tour with Harms Way, who were in support of Rise and Fall. R&F are some of the coolest guys i’ve ever met. too bad they live in belgium, cause we all had a fucking blast. their new record shreds! so nice to hear a unique take on hardcore. it has some elements of pure rock in it, but doesn’t come off gimmicky or cheesey. also, good bro-sessions with the HW dudes. couldn’t have thought of a better way to spend my birthday

- fall is here, and in full effect. hugely looking forward to thanksgiving, but not looking forward to the chaos of christmas

- i’d do just about anything to be able to own & care for a dog

- been playing a healthy amount of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 since tuesday

- recently downloaded a “Demos & Live: 1988-1990″ Judge record. so raw, so good

Chicago’s The Killer have released 1 new track on their myspace page from their upcoming album “Not All Who Are Lost.” Jesus Christ. The drums sound like an old machine gun. So punishing. Sounds like the band is further developing their sound from the more traditional hardcore, to the faster, more chaotic sound we started hearing on their last album “Better Judged By 12 Than Carried By 6.” These guys can do no wrong.

The new record comes out June 23rd on Organized Crime Records, and you out-of-towners will get another chance to see them at Burning Fight. Get siked.

things i’m currently opposite-of-siked on:

- grandma not doing well. like, really

- condo searching. it’s like apartment searching, but  20 times worse. never bother talking to people about good vs bad areas in chicago. it’s pointless. everyone has a conflicting opinion from everyone else.

- i also think i’m being repaid for being the one in the relationship that cares less than the other person. slow down

- been listening to this song a ton lately. inherently not a bad thing, but somewhat a parallel in my mood lately

- being sick

moral of the story: sucks to be a thinker, wish i could be a more simple man. life is generally good, but i hold myself back some times.
