harm’s way, east coast – spring 2010

just got back from another harm’s way tour. coming back is always melancholy. i’m happy to be back where i can lay around on my couch, play xbox, hang with the lady friend, etc., but being on the road is a pretty remarkable experience. here are a few things i learned:

- peanut butter and gumballs is a good combo

- philly and baltimore leave a lot to be desired

- however, philly cheesesteak is fucking delicious

- united blood 2010 was a real good time.

- waking up extra early for a fantasy baseball draft the morning after we got back is incredibly painful, and questionably worth-while since my lineup is pretty weak.

i can’t tell if i’m getting sick, or just exhausted. here are a few pics:

here’s what’s new:

- another year older, another year closer to death. i think my next birthday will be worse, where i’ll be left with the final year of my 20’s

- my new place has really come together. really enjoying my new ‘hood. wood blinds being installed on the 21st. i’m such an old man. my younger self would be ashamed

- hoping things work out with this lady friend of mine

- went on a 5 day mini tour with Harms Way, who were in support of Rise and Fall. R&F are some of the coolest guys i’ve ever met. too bad they live in belgium, cause we all had a fucking blast. their new record shreds! so nice to hear a unique take on hardcore. it has some elements of pure rock in it, but doesn’t come off gimmicky or cheesey. also, good bro-sessions with the HW dudes. couldn’t have thought of a better way to spend my birthday

- fall is here, and in full effect. hugely looking forward to thanksgiving, but not looking forward to the chaos of christmas

- i’d do just about anything to be able to own & care for a dog

- been playing a healthy amount of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 since tuesday

- recently downloaded a “Demos & Live: 1988-1990″ Judge record. so raw, so good

I’m frustrated by my own lack of updates. Here’s what happened:

Burning Fight

The show was unspeakably good. One of the most powerful events of my life. If that’s cheeseball or not, I don’t care.
I had intentions of doing some sort of review of the event. My realization that words will do it no justice kept me from even attempting. Kind of a lame reason, but I just don’t want to sell it so short. I haven’t done any other updates because I wanted to force myself to do the BF review.

I’d still like to say SOMETHING about it, just not sure what. I’m still reliving the fest, and trying to digest how / why it’s had such an impact, and what I want to do with that focus and emotion.

That’s all I have for now.
